So angry at what they did to my dog!
Taking my dog to Happy Paws Penthouse was an incredibly disappointing experience and a decision I deeply regret. Upon my visit today, I specifically requested a brush-out of her coat and a trim for her arms and backside. However, when I went to pick her up, they had shaved her double coat and charged me $125 for a poor shaving job I could have done myself. This was not only against my explicit instructions but also against the well-being of my border collie, whose double coat serves as insulation against heat. After I expressed my astonishment upon seeing my dog's coat completely shaved, the groomer informed me that they had performed a 'full groom,' which they claimed included shaving the coat. I contacted another professional groomer to clarify my understanding. The groomer I consulted with affirmed that a full groom for a border collie does not include shaving the coat, as it can potentially disrupt their ability to regulate their body temperature effectively. The groomer I spoke with said that any respectable groomer should be well versed with the specific grooming needs of dog breeds, especially ones as common as border collies. With this information, I called the owner of Happy Paws Penthouse to express my disappointment with their failure to adhere to my specific instructions and to request a refund. The owner yelled at me, said she 'doesn't give refunds' and hung up on me. I'm so worried that my elderly dog's coat will never grow back properly and devastated that her beautiful coat was ruined by an unprofessional and incompetent groomer. I strongly advise any responsible pet owner to avoid Happy Paws Penthouse at all costs due to the unprofessionalism and poor service I encountered during my visit.

Do not trust their chow images
Absolutely shaved off all the fur on my chow when I specifically requested not to. You cannot shave off all the hair on a chow as it dramatically increases their risk of skin cancer as well as leaves them unable to regulate heat. Fur takes around 3 years to grow back so this is an incident that will be bothering us for years to come
Would never ever recommend. Do not trust their chow images
