It is obvious that the staff at Hedgegrove make Bowie feel safe and loved every time he stays and that is very to important to us. He also smells delicious after his bath. Thanks Hedgegrove.

Snowdon
Snowdon has recently had 2 stays at Hedgegrove. Both times he has been very well looked after and seemed to enjoy his time there. I really appreciated the welfare message from Hedgegrove during his first stay as it was nice to know he was OK. I also really appreciated how clean he was on pick up after his end of stay bath.

My 2 fur kids always love coming here for a holiday. The staff are very caring and attentive. One of my dogs requires medication twice a day and this wasn’t a problem. We have boarded all of our dogs at Hedgegrove over the years and have never had a reason to go anywhere else. Thank you team for looking after our dogs so well, see you again soon.

Thank you Hedgegrove Pet Retreat. Charlie had a great holiday there. His tail always wags furiously when we arrive and also when I come to pick him up. The staff are very friendly and the whole experience is so easy.

This is the third time I have let Pippa have a holiday at Hedgegrove. I have appreciated the care and kindness that she has received which has made leaving her there with no regrets.
The reports about her stay are also pleasing to receive.

Terrible Book Keeping
Just picked up my dog from a 12 day stay for a 10 day board and train with Canine connect. When I arrived my details were incorrect and my emergency contact information was incorrect because there was another dog with the same name booked in. When I arrived they wanted to charge me the fee for boarding even although it was indicated my dog was there for board and train (Circled on the info sheet) and I had already paid to canine connect. The girl at the reception desk blamed the trainer for not communicating with them even although I had told them when I arrived!!! Terrible bookkeeping. When she went to get Maggie I was praying they brought me the right dog.

waste of money
Paid for bath and treat and supplied medication for allergies. Four days later I picked him up and he was thin and the smell was unbearable in the car.
He also had conjunctivitis so I took him to the vet the following day.
He lost three kilos. I know this because he went to the vet three weeks ago.

we had our sweet kitten have a 3 night stay in the cattery while we went away for the weekend assuming she would be in safe hands there rather than home alone.
when we picked our kitten up she was very lethargic - we assume she was just exhausted from the new surroundings. Through the night she got worse and we ended up taking her to a 24hr emergency vet to be looked over. Lucky we did as she was severely dehydrated and had lost a huge amount of weight in the 3 nights she was there. we were advised we are lucky she was collected and brought into the vet for medical attention as she would have passed away if we had not.
since researching into this boarding kennel i have found a huge amount of reviews with their animals having the same thing happen to them and some resulting in their animal passing away. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Two dogs - Easter
We boarded our two large dogs Duke (Douge de Bordeaux) and Achilles (Husky) over Easter for 10 days. Both of our boys are rescues and while Achilles has minimal issues besides being a fussy pots, Duke has had some issues with abandonment. We initially engaged with the staff via email and then booked in a tour of the facilities. Everyone was friendly and were happy to work with us to ensure both boys would have an excellent stay. We were able to board them both in the same kennel which eased some anxiety within Duke but we were also able to provide our own food for them and treats which kept them happy.
After discussing Duke's anxiety with the staff we were able to see our vet to get some medication for him which the staff were happy to administer while there. We received a call from them while we were away to update us on how they were going but also to let us know that Duke had settled in really well, but was off his food and a little bit out of it with the medication and we made the decision to stop giving it too him and he perked right back up. So their level of care and attention to the boys was exceptional.
We booked them both in for two walks while they stayed and their little report card and photos that we were sent was such a cute addition! it made us feel good that they were happy and having fun and being looked after very well while we were away.
We will be sure to book them back in when we have to go away next time.
