Dear Anastasia, Smallpaws Pet Hotel takes the responsibility of looking after the health and welfare of all animals left in our care very seriously. As mentioned in our communication with you, we were deeply concerned about Malysh’s health. Our view however, of the events and circumstances that led to her illness differs significantly from those expressed in your post. To this end we would like to clarify the following. Malysh arrived at SmallPaws carrying excessive weight; we were instructed to keep her on a defined and restricted diet. We sent you weekly photos of Malysh while she stayed with us. These photos show her gradual healthy loss of weight. Malysh had a pre-existing medical condition, of which we were never informed. Which when combined with her loss of weight led to the diagnosis. Malysh is a fussy eater. We were of the view that your instructions were for her to lose weight in a controlled fashion and that is why you insisted we feed her a special diet. The instant however,Malysh stopped eating we sought veterinarian advice. Once again, we express our deep regret that Malysh fell ill and we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused you.
