Great for anxious dogs
My two dogs had a six night stay at Hilltop - both are rescues and were adults when I adopted them. One (kelpie, 8yo) is particularly anxious and is on medication to cope with life in general, and the other (stumpy tail cattle dog, 11.5yo) isn’t too fond of strange dogs and is also on medication for reactivity. Anton and Michaela suggested a couple of day stays which I took up and I think helped the boys settle in when it came to their longer stay. They had their own pen and sleeping quarters and the kennels are clean, protected from the elements and well set up to avoid any run ins with other dogs. I like the raw food diet as that’s what my dogs eat at home although you can bring your own food if needed. Medication administration outside of usual feeding time and heat lamps are a minimal extra cost. On pickup everything was ready to be loaded into the car and I was told the boys had a good time and the cattle dog even hung out for a bit with Michaela’s kelpie! They were both in great shape, happy, healthy and obviously well cared for during their stay. They both enjoyed their holiday I think! I visited a number of kennels before settling on Hilltop and I’m glad I put the boys in here. They slept soundly at home for the rest of the day (as Michaela foreshadowed- they were tired from their big adventure holiday) and were back to their usual chaotic selves the day after pickup. I’d definitely book in again and recommend for any anxious/timid dogs.

Wonderful
Anton, Michaela and Lisa are all so very kind, caring and knowledgeable. We love them and Hilltop Kennels. They are wonderful with our two dogs Pip and Jenny. Always in safe and gentle hands.

Subi is my 8 month old kelpie x and she stayed at Hilltop over the last weekend. I’ve never used a boarding kennel before but as I have no family close by, this was a god send. Luckily I have a very social dog and she seemed to love her weekend away. Thank you Michaela and Anton for looking after her and making sure she was paired with her best companions.

Great service for high needs dog
Luna was booked in for early June. Unfortunately the week before she ruptured her cruciat ligament and had surgery. We couldn’t cancel our trip so Hilltop worked with us and our vet to care for Luna post surgery. They were confident in administering all of her medication and keeping her still and quiet. Upon return she looked happy and well and I was very reassured.

Harry & Indi had a great time!
For various reasons my two reached the age of 9 before having their first boarding kennel experience, but they are nothing if not total stickybeaks and very social - so when I dropped them off they disappeared with Anton and didn't even look back to see where I was! Clearly they had a great time with their Husky and 'Doodle run mates. When I picked them up a few days later they were happy to see me, but still having friendly interactions with their carers. Once home and dinner done they were snoring by 7pm! Hilltop comes very highly recommended, by all 3 of us ...

We would be lost without Hilltop. Axel is a regular during week long work trips and is always excited to go and happily exhausted and had a great stay when he comes home. Anton & Michaela are thoughtful and sensible pairing companions in the day time run and would trust their judgement entirely if any issue arose. Part of our family!

Joni the worrier
Joni is our much-loved elderly 'rescue' hound who has anxiety and only limited experience being cared for outside of family. Hilltop were compassionate and understanding of her temperament and her needs and were very reassuring for us. We had a short trial stay to get acquainted which has given us confidence to leave Joni in Hilltop's care when we go on holidays later this year.

Excellent people and care
Our 2 cats stayed for 3 nights this week and were so well cared for. I would only ever board my cats and dogs at Hilltop as it is fantastic!

Fantastic
We have boarded our two cats at Hilltop a number of times, for long and shorts stays.
We are always so happy with the level of care that is taken.
One of our cats is diabetic and they were more then happy to accommodate her needs, being insulin twice a day, her own food and just a general check in to see she is ok. They accepted this with no fuss and extreamly reasonable pricing.
We have no problems driving the 1 hour trip there just to know they are safe and happy. As our fur-babies I couldn't leave them if i didnt feel 100% comfortable.

Pet holiday retreat

Brian & Sophie stay at Hilltop Kennels and Cattery
First time we have ever used a cattery to look after our fur kids so were quite anxious at the idea of leaving them with someone else. But to our delight they have had the best holiday, they were both well looked after a pampered. We along with Brian and Sophie couldn't recommend Hilltop highly enough.

We use Hilltop all the time, our fur baby’s love the large exercise yards then the opinion for heat lamps in the sleeping pens which makes it really nice in winter. They also have the best dog food and our pets always come home looking great.
